Ayurveda originated in the Indian region more than 5,000 years ago and is the oldest continuously practiced healing system in the world. Based on an understanding on natural rhythms and laws, Ayurveda teaches that human beings are governed by the same rules and laws as all other natural beings. If we prefer to ignore these laws, imbalances will start to appear, which can lead to discord and disease in the mind and body.
An Ayurvedic approach views each individual as unique, taking into account their distinctive psychological, emotional, and physical conditions. Imbalances in the body are assessed through the system of the five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. The goal of Ayurveda is to instruct people on how to attain optimal balance through a deeper understanding of themselves and their own particular nature.
